This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) governs Tutela LLC’s (“Tutela,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collection and use of information about users (“you” or “your”) of our website TutelaConnect.com (the “Site”).  By visiting or using TutelaConnect.com, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Policy.

 

This Privacy Statement covers the information practices of the following web sites: tutelaconnect.com and tutelaconnect.net and subdomains within these sites.  Tutela’s web sites may contain links to other web sites as a service to you. Tutela is not responsible for the information practices or the content of such other web sites. 1. Information Collected
Tutela collects information from website users who visit the Site (“Visitors”) and website users who register to use Tutela’s services (“Customers”).  Information that Tutela collects falls into two categories: personal and non-personal information.

 

    a. Personally Identifiable Information ("PII")

PII refers to information that can be used to uniquely identify, contact, or locate a single individual or can be used with other sources to uniquely identify a single individual.    

 

         i. Registration

Visitors can access limited features of the Site without disclosing PII.  However, to access the entire Site and its communication products, visitors must register for an account.  When you register for the Site, you will be asked to submit PII, including your first and last name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, and billing information.  At this time, you will also have the opportunity to subscribe to any Site newsletters regarding Tutela's product news, services, and special offers or events.  You may unsubscribe to these newsletters at any time by updating your registration account information online.                        

        

      

  

    b. Non-personally Identifiable Information ("Non-PII")

         Non-PII does not by itself identify a specific individual.  

         i. Generally

When you visit TutelaConnect.com, Tutela’s servers automatically collect non-personal information.  This information may include your Web Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser language, the date and time of your request, and referring website addresses.  Tutela may use this anonymous information or share it with third parties.  Tutela uses this information to maintain the quality of its service and to provide general statistics about website visitors.      

       

         ii. Search

When you search on our site, we store the search terms and the site(s) visited so that we can continuously improve the quality of our search results. As an easy reference for you, the “Recent searches” feature shows you the last _______ terms you looked up. 

                 

         iii. Website Navigational Information

Tutela uses information-gathering applications, including cookies and web beacons, to collect anonymous information about your use of TutelaConnect.com. 

 

             A. Cookies

A Cookie is a text file that is placed on the hard disk of your computer by a web page server.  When you visit TutelaConnect.com, the servers send a cookie to your computer.  When you visit TutelaConnect subsequently, the cookie tells the web server that you have returned to a specific page and shows your customized content.  Cookies do not identify any personal information about you; they only identify your web browser. Tutela uses cookies for your convenience, personalizing your experience when you visit the website again.  You may decline the use of cookies through your general browser settings.  However, if you decline the use of cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of TutelaConnect.com.      

                               

             B. Web Beacons

Web beacons assist website owners with recording traffic on their website.  Web beacons collect a limited set of information about users who have visited website pages, including a cookie number, the time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the web beacon resides.  Web beacons cannot access your personal information.          

 

2. Use of Information Collected
We will primarily use your PII to provide our services to you, as required by our agreements with you.  We will also use PII to enhance the operation of our site, statistically analyze site use, improve our service offerings, and customize our site’s content, layout, and services.  We may use PII to deliver information to you and to contact you regarding administrative notices.  We may also use PII to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and enforce our agreements with you, including our Site Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy.
           
3. Sharing of Information with Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or rent your PII to others.  However, we provide some of our services through contractual arrangements with affiliates, services providers, partners and other third parties.  We and our service partners use your PII to operate our sites and to deliver their services.  For example, we must release your credit card information to the card-issuing bank to confirm payment for services purchased on this site.  The use of your PII by our service partners is governed by the privacy policies of those service partners and is not subject to our control.

 

We may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide PII and non-PII to the appropriate governmental authorities.  We will disclose PII and non-PII upon receipt of a court order, subpoena, or to cooperate with a law enforcement investigation.  We will disclose PII and non-PII to protect and defend our user’s rights or property, the Site, visitors, or the public.  We fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use our services for illegal activities.  We reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful.

 

We may also provide Non-PII about our customers’ sales, traffic patterns, and related site information to third party advertisers, but these statistics do not include any PII.

                    
4. Control Over Your PII

 

    a. Update or Correct Your Account

We encourage you to promptly update your PII if it changes.  You may change any of your PII in your account online by linking to your account in accordance with instructions posted elsewhere on this site.  You may delete information on your account; however, because we may keep track of past transactions (but we have no obligation to store any content), you cannot delete information associated with past transactions on this Site.  In addition, it may be impossible to completely delete your information without some residual information because of backups.

 

    b. Close Your Account

You may close your account by visiting Account and clicking Close My Account.  We will send you a confirmation e-mail with a link that you must click to close your account permanently.  Once you close your account, you will not be able to view or access any information that you saved or created on the website.

5. Control Over Collection, Use, and Distribution of PII

We may, from time to time, send you e-mails regarding our services.  In addition, if you indicate upon registration that you are interested in receiving offers or information from us, we may occasionally send you direct mail about services that we feel may be of interest to you.  Only Tutela (or agents working on behavior of Tutela and under confidentiality agreements) will send you these direct mailings and only if you indicate that you do not object to these offers.  If you do not want to receive such mailings, simply tell us when you give us your personal information.  Or, at any time you can easily edit your account information to no longer receive such offers and mailings.  If you do not update your e-mail address you may not be informed of certain matters.

6. Security

 

    a. Our Precautions  

At Tutela, we are committed to protecting your information through procedures and technologies consistent with industry security standards.  Your PII is protected in several ways.  First, access to your PII is available only through a unique customer ID and password selected by you.  We use secure socket layer encryption to prevent unauthorized parties from viewing such information while it is transmitted between our servers and your computer.  Second, we limit access to your PII to Tutela employees and contractors having a reasonable need to access this information to provide products and services to you.  Parties who misuse information are subject to disciplinary action, including termination.

  
     b. Your Precautions

You can also play a major part in keeping your PII secure: choose your passwords carefully, log out and close your browser after you are finished, and install antivirus software and spyware protection.  Do not share your user name or password with others.    

      

7. Additional Privacy Information

    a. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Does Not Apply

Because no medical information will be disclosed while using Tutela products and services, HIPAA does not apply.

 

    b. Use by Minors

        You must be at least 18 years old to register to use the Site.  
    

    c. Changes to this Privacy Statement

We may change this Policy at any time.  Such changes shall be effective immediately upon notice, which may be given by means including, but not limited to, an e-mail to the e-mail address listed by registered users or posting the revised Policy on this page.  You agree that it is your responsibility to maintain an active e-mail address as a registered user, review this Policy periodically, and be aware of any changes.  Your continued use of this website after such changes constitutes your agreement to abide and be bound by the modified Policy.
